Help & FAQ
Everything you need to know about Punt Hub — what each feature does, how to get started, and answers to the questions we get asked most.
Getting Started
New to Punt Hub? Here's everything you need to know to hit the ground running — from creating an account to finding your way around the site.
Most features — race cards, odds, tips, Market Movers, and news — are fully public. You only need a free account to play Mystery Runner, enter competitions, vote in polls, or follow a tipster.
Click 'Sign Up' in the top-right corner and follow the prompts. You can register with your email address or sign in with Google. Signing up takes under a minute and is completely free.
Yes — the site is fully responsive and works on any modern smartphone or tablet browser. Just visit punthub.com.au in your mobile browser; no app download required.
Completely free. Punt Hub earns revenue through affiliate relationships with bookmakers (see our Affiliate Disclosure), so you never pay to access tips, odds, or racing information.
Punt Hub is available to users across all Australian states and territories. All content is for informational and entertainment purposes only; you must be 18+ to place bets with any bookmaker.
Racing & Race Cards
The Racing section is the beating heart of Punt Hub. Every Australian thoroughbred, harness, and greyhound meeting is listed here with full fields, form, and live odds.
Punt Hub covers all three Australian codes: Thoroughbred (horses), Harness (trotters & pacers), and Greyhounds. Each race card shows the race type icon so you can scan at a glance.
Odds are refreshed automatically throughout the day. During the final hour before jump time updates become more frequent, keeping you on top of late market moves.
Each race card displays the field with barrier draws, jockey/driver/trainer, best available odds from major bookmakers, Punt Hub tips, and any late scratchings. Tap a runner's name to open the runner detail panel — which includes trainer/jockey stats and a full bookmaker odds comparison sorted best to worst.
Head to the Racing page and use the meeting switcher at the top to select the date, then pick your meeting from the list. Meetings are grouped by race type and sorted by jump time.
The Next To Jump strip at the top of the Racing page shows the upcoming races in chronological order. Tap any race to jump straight to its card without scrolling through the meeting list.
Punt Hub Pulse is the signal strip shown at the top of every live race card. It highlights the favourite, second favourite, the biggest market mover (shortener), the biggest drifter, and the most-tipped runner — all at a glance so you can read the race without scanning the full field.
Yes — use the Results page to look up completed races from previous days. You can filter by date, meeting, and race type.
Tips & Tipping
Punt Hub's tipping system aggregates expert and community tips into one easy-to-read view so you can see where the consensus is before you place a bet.
Tips come from the Punt Hub tipping team and community tipsters. Each tip is linked to a runner in a specific race and includes the tipster's confidence level.
The badge on a runner's name shows how many tipsters have selected that runner. The more badges, the stronger the consensus — but always do your own research before wagering.
Yes — visit any tipster's profile page to see their record and follow them. Your followed tipsters' picks will be highlighted in race cards across the site.
On the Tips page, use the bookmaker filter chips at the top of the page to show only the odds from your preferred bookmaker. Your selection is remembered as you browse races.
The Most Tipped filter on the Tips page sorts runners by the number of tips they have received, so you can quickly spot the consensus picks for the day.
Stars Align
Stars Align surfaces races where multiple independent signals all point to the same runner — a powerful short-list for punters who want to bet with conviction.
Stars Align highlights runners where several key indicators — tipster consensus, market support, form ratings, and more — all converge on the same horse, trotter, or greyhound. It's a high-confidence short-list, not a guarantee.
Each runner is scored on a scale of 1 to 5 stars based on how many positive signals align. Five-star runners are exceptionally rare and represent the strongest available confluence.
The Stars Align list refreshes automatically throughout the morning as tips, form updates, and market movements come in. Check back a few hours before jump for the freshest ratings.
No — racing is inherently unpredictable. Stars Align improves your strike rate by filtering the field, but every bet carries risk. Always gamble responsibly.
Stars Align has its own page in the main navigation. You can also reach it from the Tips page via the Stars Align shortcut tab.
Punt Hub Best of the Day
Every day, TipSpot's Edge Finder algorithm scans the entire Australian racing card and surfaces the single runner with the highest value edge. Punt Hub Best of the Day presents that selection with full transparency — score, methodology, and result.
Punt Hub Best of the Day is a single algorithmic selection published daily by TipSpot's Edge Finder. It identifies the runner with the strongest value edge across all Australian races that day — combining market position, tipster consensus, and proprietary scoring.
The TipSpot Edge Finder scans every Australian race running that day and scores each runner on a 70–100 scale. Only runners scoring 70 or above qualify; the top-ranked qualifying runner becomes the Best of the Day pick, locked in at 11:30 am Melbourne time.
Picks are classified as QUALIFYING (score 70–79), STRONG (score 80–89), or EXCEPTIONAL (score 90+). A higher score means a stronger edge signal — EXCEPTIONAL picks are rare and represent the algorithm's highest-conviction selections.
The day's pick appears on the Today's Pulse tile labelled 'Punt Hub Best of the Day' on the home page, and in full detail on the dedicated Best of the Day page accessible from the Tips section.
On some days no runner clears the minimum qualifying score. If that happens, the tile and page will say so — TipSpot only publishes a pick when a genuine edge has been identified.
Yes — the Best of the Day archive shows every past pick with its finish position and final price so you can judge the algorithm's track record yourself.
Market Movers
Market Movers tracks how odds are shifting across the major bookmakers, showing you which runners are attracting money and which are blowing out.
Market Movers is a live odds-movement tracker. It shows whether a runner's price has shortened (money coming in) or drifted (money going out) since markets opened, helping you read the market's implied form.
A shortener means the bookmaker has reduced the price — money has come in for that runner. Significant shorteners can indicate stable support or informed money.
A drifter means the bookmaker has increased the price — money has gone elsewhere. Consistent drifters may be losing the market's confidence, but can also represent value if they drifted unfairly.
The percentage shown is the change in decimal odds from the opening price to the current price. A 20 % move on a short-priced favourite is far more significant than 20 % on a roughie.
Yes — use the bookmaker selector at the top of the Market Movers page to compare odds movement across different bookmakers, or pin your preferred book.
Odds Comparison
The Odds Comparison page lines up every major bookmaker side-by-side so you can find the best price in seconds without opening five browser tabs.
For each runner in a race, Punt Hub fetches the current price from every supported bookmaker and displays them in a grid. The best available price in each row is highlighted.
Punt Hub compares odds from all major Australian bookmakers. The exact list can vary by race; head to the Bookmakers page for the full list with sign-up offers.
Odds are pulled from bookmakers automatically and refreshed frequently throughout the day. For the most time-sensitive decisions, always confirm the price at the bookmaker's site before placing a bet.
Navigate to the Compare tab from the main navigation, or open any race card and tap the 'Compare' button at the top of the card.
Yes — each bookmaker logo in the comparison grid is a link. Tapping it takes you to the bookmaker's site where you can register or place a bet. Note that our links may contain affiliate tracking codes.
Mystery Runner
Mystery Runner is Punt Hub's daily racing puzzle. A hidden runner is revealed one clue at a time — guess it in fewer clues to score more points.
A new mystery horse is published each day. Clues are revealed one at a time — read each clue, type your guess, and submit. The fewer clues you need, the higher your score. You need a free account to play.
A fresh mystery is published daily. Check back each morning — the puzzle resets at midnight AEST.
You can request up to 6 clues before the mystery runner is revealed. Your score is based on how early you correctly identified the runner.
Yes — the Mystery Runner archive lets you browse previous daily puzzles and see which runner was featured.
Streaks are tracked automatically. If you believe your streak was broken due to a technical error, contact us through the Contact page with the date in question.
No — today's puzzle is always excluded from the public archive until after the answer is revealed.
Daily Ticket
Daily Ticket is Punt Hub's ready-made multi-leg bet slip. Our analysts build a fresh ticket each racing day — follow it outright or use it as inspiration.
The Daily Ticket is a pre-built multi-race selection published every racing day by the Punt Hub team. It's designed as a starting point for punters who want structured guidance rather than individual tips.
Each Daily Ticket has three legs, chosen from the day's metro and major provincial meetings.
Punt Hub publishes the ticket as a recommendation. You can swap legs or adjust stakes at your bookmaker — the ticket is a guide, not a binding selection.
The Daily Ticket is featured on the Play hub under the Games tab, and is also promoted on the home page on race days.
The ticket goes live each morning, usually before 9 am AEST, giving you time to review it before markets move.
Competitions
Punt Hub runs regular tipping competitions where punters go head-to-head on leaderboards. Prizes, bragging rights, and the thrill of the contest — all free to enter.
Browse open competitions on the Play hub. Tap the competition you want to enter, read the rules, and click 'Enter'. A free account is required.
Yes — all Punt Hub competitions are free. There is no buy-in required.
Each competition has its own scoring rules, shown on the competition detail page. Most use a point system rewarding correct selections at market odds.
Entry deadlines vary by competition and are clearly shown on each competition card. Some competitions close at the jump of the first race; others close the day before.
Results are posted on the competition detail page once the event concludes. Winners are also notified by email if they have notifications enabled in their account settings.
Polls
Polls let the Punt Hub community weigh in on racing's biggest talking points — from the best horse of a generation to who should ride in the Cup.
Open the poll from the Play hub, tap your preferred option, and submit. You can see the live community result immediately after voting. A free account is required.
No — poll votes are final once submitted to keep results accurate.
Each poll shows a closing date on the detail page. Some polls run for a day around a specific race; others run for a week or more.
Polls are created by the Punt Hub editorial team around the biggest races and talking points of the moment.
Bookmakers
The Bookmakers section is your guide to every major Australian wagering operator — offers, features, and how they compare on the markets you care about.
We cover all major Australian bookmakers and provide information to help you decide. We earn an affiliate fee if you sign up through one of our links — see our Affiliate Disclosure for full transparency.
We try to keep offer information current, but bookmakers change their promotions regularly. Always confirm current terms directly on the bookmaker's website before signing up.
Some bookmakers offer a 'Best Tote' price guarantee — you're paid at the best of the three Australian totes if that beats their fixed odds. 'Top fluc' pays the highest fluctuation seen during the race. These are market types, not sign-up bonuses.
Yes — the Odds Comparison page shows every supported bookmaker's price for each runner. You can reach it from any race card or directly from the Compare link in the main navigation.
Some bookmaker placements and offers are commercial in nature. We disclose these relationships in our Affiliate Disclosure, linked in the footer.
