Alongside the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes and Tulloch Stakes, Rosehill will showcase a great lineup, and bookmakers are offering special promotions, cash-back deals, and better odds for this Group 1 event.
๐ฅ Stay tuned as we break down each race with best bets, and value plays!
Race 1. (12:30) Midway (Bm72) 1300m
Best to Back: ๐ 4. So Good So Cool (6)
Confidence-boosting win last start when coming from off the speed to claim a strong Midway victory here over 1200m. Prior run at Warwick Farm was sound in defeat behind a smart one on a slow track. Hard fit, in form and looks well placed again.
Leading contender.
Best Value: ๐ฐ 19. Sumo Star (10)
Hard to knock recent efforts at Provincial level, hitting the line well in both runs over 1200โ1300m. Closed off nicely at Hawkesbury last start but rises sharply in grade here. Down in the weights and handles all conditions, but this is tougher.
Each way all day.
Race 2. (13:05) Rosehill Bowling Club Baillieu 1400m
Best to Back: ๐2. Nepotism (3)
Massive debut effort in the G2 Todman, where he was badly held up at a key stage yet still charged late to finish 3rd. That form may not have completely stood up, but he gave every indication 1400m will suit.
Drawn to get a soft run and looks very hard to beat.
Best Value: ๐ฐ1. Quietly Arrogant (8)
Reasoning: At 11.2 odds, I've Been Dreaming offers excellent value. Its recent 2nd-place finish demonstrates good form, and it has a solid place strike rate (33.33%). The commentary notes it found the line well last start and has been consistent this preparation. With the potential to finish strongly in an average-paced race, itโs a strong candidate for a place or even an upset win.
Race 3. (13:40) Tulloch Stakes 2000m
Best to Back: ๐5. Confetti Garden (5)
Tried hard with every hope last start in the G2 Autumn Classic over 1800m, sitting on-speed but unable to match the winner late. Prior to that, boxed on gamely to score over 2000m at Mornington. Holding form well and should appreciate the rise back in trip.
Genuine contender again.
Best Value: ๐ฐ10. Deal N' Dash (7)
Brilliant debut winner at this track over 1500m, savaging the line late to score impressively when well backed. Flopped badly second-up at Canberra over 2000m when heavily supportedโraced wide and never looked comfortable. Back in trip and onto familiar ground. Capable of rebounding, but hard to trust at a short quote.
Risky but talented.
Race 4. (14:15) Neville Sellwood Stakes 2000m
Best to Back: ๐ 1. Ceolwulf (NZ) (7)
Tough effort in the George Ryder when surging late to finish a narrow 3rd behind Gringotts, backing up a solid run in the Canterbury Stakes. Drops in class here and finds the right race third-up and out to 1600m. The knock is the heavy track and the weight, but his form is elite.
Deserved favourite โ the one to beat.
Best Value: ๐ฐ7. Palmetto (NZ) (1)
In career-best form having backed up a narrow second in the G3 Parramatta Cup with a gritty win in the Listed Canberra Cup over 2000m. Racing well on the pace and finding strongly under pressure.
his looks a logical next step and heโs right in the mix again.
Race 5. (14:50) Emancipation Stakes 1500m
Best to Back: ๐4. Scarlet Oak (8)
Forgive run in the Coolmore where she blundered at the start and didn't handle the firmer going. First-up run was solid behind Firestorm in the Millie Fox and she now gets conditions to suit with rain-affected ground and J-Mac aboard. Third-up winner previously, and looks primed to bounce back.
Major player.
Best Value: ๐ฐ 5. Lekvarte (NZ) (4)
Never got warm first-up in the G3 Wenona Girl over 1200m, finishing a well-beaten last after settling at the rear. Much better suited out to 1500m second-up, where sheโs won before in Group company. Capable of sharp improvement but may need a genuine tempo to feature.
Knockout hope at odds.
Race 6. (15:25) Vinery Stud Stakes 2000m
Best to Back: ๐1. Treasurethe Moment (5)
Class filly building beautifully this prep. VRC Oaks winner who resumed with a soft Armanasco win before coasting away in the G2 Kewney last start. Third-up and out to a trip more suitable again. Simply looks better than them.
Looks unbeatableโฆ
Best Value: ๐ฐ5. Declichy Boulevard (9)
Solid effort in the Phar Lap, where she was hampered near the 500m but still hit the line well. Surround run was better than it looks on paper after copping interference late. The step to 2000m is a query, but she's racing honestly and can be in the finish again.
Each-way claims.
Race 7. (16:00) Star Kingdom Stakes 1200m
Best to Back: ๐ 15. General Salute (8)
Sharp return win at Kembla, unleashing a sizzling turn of foot from midfield to put them away with ease. Previously Group-placed, and looks to have come back as well as ever. Second-up record is patchy, but heโs got serious upside and can go on with it now.
Hard to beat.
Best Value: ๐ฐ 2. Mazu (2)
Forgive both runs this prepโfaced the wind first-up in the Lightning, then sat wide without cover in the Challenge. Third-up record strong and back in class here. Any sting out of the ground enhances his claims.
Class runner who just needs luck and if it rains, load the cannons!
Race 8. (16:35) Tancred Stakes 2400m
Best to Back: ๐ 1. Dubai Honour (IRE) (3)
World-class galloper resuming. Last seen finishing runner-up in the G1 Hong Kong Vase over 2400m, and before that was second to The Foxes in a strong UK return. Unbeaten in Australia, including dominant wins in the Ranvet and Queen Elizabeth last year, heโs clearly the class runner and gets conditions to suit.
Trialled well, stable know the formula. Major player.
Best Value: ๐ฐ 4. Duke De Sessa (IRE) (1)
Strong return win at Caulfield before just missing in the Australian Cup Prelude when held up at a key stage. Third-up now and proven at 2000m, she maps to get a lovely run.
Hard fit, in form, and rates one of the main hopes.
Race 9. (17:15) Doncaster Prelude 1500m
Best to Back: ๐ 10. Ducasse (10)
Returned in style when resuming with a strong win over 1400m here, then fair in the G2 Ajax, having every chance but only grinding to the line late behind Iowna Merc. Third-up now, and hard fit, heโs shown talent and likes the sting out. Maps well again and should get every hope.
Strong betโฆ
Best Value: ๐ฐ 14. Sibaaq (GB) (11)
Sound return from a spell when boxing on for 3rd behind Ducasse over 1400m here. That form has since stood up. Second-up run last prep was a close 4th in the Scone Cup, showing he can improve with a run under the belt. Meets a deeper field here, but heโs fit, honest, and drawn well.
Rough hope if they overdo it up front.
Race 10. (17:55) Hkjc World Pool (Bm88) 1400m
Best to Back: ๐ 13. Well Timed (8)
Solid return from a break when sitting handy and finishing 2nd to Mahogany Girl in the Provincial-Midway heat over 1400m. Second-up winner last prep and gets a key jockey switch with Nash Rawiller aboard. This looks a winnable race en route to the Provincial Final.
Hard to knock. Top chance.
Best Value: ๐ฐ 9. Rhapsody Chic (NZ) (13)
Resumes off a decent spell and has trialled up solidly. Was fifth in a competitive BM88 before the break and has form around wet tracks, including an unbeaten record on heavy ground. Won first-up last prep and looks well set up for a forward showing here.
Keep safe at odds.
