On the quick backup after fading late over 2400m at this track, but his previous strong third at Caulfield over 2000m suggests he’s in good form. Drops back slightly in class and can improve against this field. Expecting a strong showing—each-way chance.

Third-up and ready to peak after two solid closing efforts at Pakenham, including a runner-up finish fresh. Fitter now and well-weighted with a claim, he maps for a soft run and should be finishing strongly. Each-way chance.

Progressive filly who stormed home to win at Bendigo, backing up a strong debut second at Geelong. Steps up in grade here, but she’s racing well and has upside. Should settle handy and be right in the finish—definite contender.

Improving with each run, finishing a solid second at Colac last start after making late ground. Prior to that, boxed on well at Cranbourne in a tight finish. Drawn to get every chance and should be going forward early. This is a tougher test but not without claims—each-way hope.

Honest performer who ran on respectably at Canberra last start after a solid on-pace effort at Kembla Grange the run prior. Drops in class and gets the benefit of a 3kg claim, which brings him into contention. Should settle positively—each-way claims.

Attacked the line strongly at Canterbury last start, just missing in a tight finish. Drops in class but carries more weight, with a 2kg claim helping offset the rise. Backmarker who will be hitting the line late—each-way chance.

RACE 7: 13. Oakfield Duke (1)

Trainer:K.A.Lees - Jockey:C.Schofield - Weight: 57kg

Ran well above market expectations at Randwick, charging home late from last to finish a respectable fourth in a BM78 over 1400m. Draws the inside gate, which could help him settle closer, but generally races back. Will be running on late—outside chance at odds.

RACE 8: 10. Monkhana (NZ) (7)

Trainer:D.L.Wynen - Jockey:A.Morgan - Weight: 55.5kg

Impressive first-up winner at Hawkesbury, surging home to score by three lengths. Proven second-up performer, having won by nearly three lengths at Pukekohe last prep. Tackles a stronger field here but has a sharp turn of foot. Fitter now and can figure again—genuine contender.
